There can be a few reasons why your images have been lost or just “disappeared”:

Case1. No images on your camera memory card

The first one is that you have not accidentally erased them from your memory card but your playback display states blandly “no images”. The second one is that you have accidentally (or deliberately) erased some or all of the images from your memory card.

In both instances, the images have not actually been erased or deleted - they are still there but your camera will simply not display them. However, the camera software may well overwrite these files if you continue to take pictures.

In view of this is necessary to take immediate action to recover the files before this happens.

If you did not deliberately erase the images yourself, the first thing to try is to switch off your camera. Remove the memory card from the camera and then replace it, switch the camera back on and check to see if the images have returned. This is a similar procedure to re - booting a computer when it throws a wobbly. It works sometimes but not always.

If the images do not reappear, proceed as if you have accidentally erased them as follows:

Go online and use a search engine and type in “free file recovery programmes” to find a programme like “Free Undelete”. Download it and connect your camera to the computer as you would for uploading images from your memory card. Alternatively, you can insert your memory card into the appropriate memory card slot in your computer if you have one.

I have tried this completely free programme and it works well. However, there are several other non - free programmes you can use if you prefer which may be more sophisticated with more features.

Start the programme, select the drive where the memory card is located and click “Scan”. if a folder appears, open it. If the files have not been overwritten, the programme should find them. Note; For Windows Vista users; you may have to right click the program shortcut and select “run as administrator” or it may not work.

Be patient. The programme takes several minutes to completely scan the card and retrieve the files. It lists them with a rating of “poor” or “good”. Select the files you want to restore, click “undelete” and then save them to your computers hard drive in a suitable location.

If you try to save to the memory card you may get a warning that the image may suffer loss of quality. If you definitely want to put these files on to your memory card then save them first to your desktop. Copy these files (right click - copy) and paste them to your memory card (right click - paste). I have done this without any apparent loss of quality.

One thing I noticed with this free programme is that if you click the “help” file on the main menu - nothing happens. To access this you will have to locate the “Free Undelete” folder from the Start - Programmes folder.

Case2. Images lost from computer

Exactly the same procedure is used to recover lost or deleted files on any other drives you have on your computer. Just select the drive where the images were stored before they disappeared. But this time specify the type of file you want to recover. In this case it is a jpeg, so enter “.jpg” as your search filter otherwise you will get every deleted file on your computer listed.

Note: As implied above, this programme will retrieve many other types of files as well, including lost or deleted emails and documents. However, Free Undelete is a utility programme so there is no preview available. If you want all the bells and whistles you may have to purchase a more sophisticated version like “Recover my Files”. This has a preview window and many other features. It is available for a free trial but the save feature is blocked until you purchase it (about $70/£35). There are many other similar programmes available of varying degrees of sophistication - so take a look and find one that suits you.

Before giving your child Internet access, have a conversation about both the benefits and dangers of the Internet. Lay down a set of rules to govern your child’s use of the Internet and be sure to include the following:

Explain the importance of keeping personal information private. Explain what personal information is. Younger children may not understand that addresses, phone numbers, school names, and parent names should be kept private.

Each player must use 2 cards from their hand and 3 of the 5 cards from the community. Omaha poker is more complicated than Holdem do to so many more outs and the extra two cards.

Before play beings, the player to the left of the dealer must play the small blind and the player to the left of them must play the big blind. Then in Omaha Poker, each player is dealt 4 down cards from left to right. This starts the first round of betting, starting with the player to the left of the dealer. Each player can call, raise, or fold. After all the bets are in, 3 community cards are then dealt face up (“the flop”) for every player to play from. This begins the next round of betting. Next comes the forth card or the “turn” following by a round of betting. Finally comes the final fifth card known as the “river”. This ensues the final round of betting. After all bets are in the player with the best poker hands wins if it comes to a showdown. Sometimes the other players will fold and the winning player does not have to show his or her cards.

Omaha Poker takes a lot of practice to perfect. If you have already played holdem then you will have a no trouble picking this game up. It is a fast pace game, where the pots tend to be more juicy than holdem.

Table position is one of the most important factors of the poker table. Once you have begun developing your poker mindset and developed strict starting hand requirements it’s time to organize your starting hand requirements based on table position.

We will start from under the gun (first to act or directly left of the big blind) and work our way around the table to the blinds. When playing hands under the gun you need to adhere to the tightest starting hand requirements you can. The reason behind this is that the entire table acts behind you and if you try to limp in with a weak hand there is a great chance there will be a raise and your marginal holding will have to be thrown away. You should only play raising hands in this position and the only time you should try to limp in from these positions is with a middle pocket pair and occasionally a big hand just to mix things up. The same applies for second position which is also included in early position.

In middle position, the players who act 3rd, 4th and 5th (at a table of ten), you can play a looser game but should still observe fairly tight requirements if you’re a tight player but you’re a loose player feel free to play your normal hands here but try to play tighter than you would if you were on the button. You should only play raising hands and a few non-raising hands like low pocket pairs, suited connectors, suited face cards and other marginal hands. For most players the worst hand I’d probably play in middle position is 8-9s or J-8s. For a tight player the worst hand I’d recommend playing here would be a hand like J-10s or K-Q.

In late position, the last two positions before the blinds including the button, play your loosest game here. Since you have information about most of the player’s hands at the table you are able to deduce what types of hands you can get away with playing in this position. Feel free to play all pocket pairs and suited connectors no worse than 7-6s. Any two face card combinations can also be played here unless you follow another advanced strategy on how to play these types of hands which can be found in my other articles and on my site.

The blinds feel free to play just about whatever you want since you’ve already put money into the pot however, do not call a raise with junk just because you have chips in the pot. Same thing applies for the small blind, do not just throw in another chip with garbage just because its half price because it will add up over time and you’ll be wasting chips and getting yourself in trouble.
